Band Parents plan garage sale

The Eden Prairie Band Parents Organization will host a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, in the Main Commons at EPHS. The group is accepting donations for the event including clothes, furniture, toys or any other household items. The Lock-up storage facility (12995 Valley View Road-across from Home Depot) has donated space to collect all of these items prior to the sale. Residents wanting to make donations can drop off items at the storage facility at the following dates:

* From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10

* From 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 13

As he prepares to leave the nest, Charlie Crocker reflects on the busiest job at EPHS

They said, as long as he was cool with wearing tights, “I could get the job,” said Charlie Crocker. That was three years ago, and since that time, Crocker has dutifully donned the Eagle suit for game after game at Eden Prairie High School. Life as the Eagle mascot might be one of the busiest gigs at EPHS, but it's something that Crocker, now a senior, has set his sights on since he was a little kid.

“I’ve always wanted to be the mascot.”



Earn high score in Math contest

Tianyu Tao, grade 12, and Anqi Wang, grade 11, both attending the International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie, achieved a high score on a recent mathematics contest. The next exam is in mid-March. According to a news release, “these exams are a way to challenge high school students with exceptional mathematical ability and to recognize those who perform well.

The top scoring students in the AIME move on to the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), a worldwide system of national mathematics competitions.”

Eden Prairie Boys Hockey: It comes to this?

When the high school hockey season opened three months ago, the defending state champion Eden Prairie High School boys hockey team was ranked No. 1.

And then Minnetonka started its season 4-0 and snatched away the top ranking; they’ve been ranked No. 1 ever since.

Fast forward to today and Minnetonka is ranked No 1, Eden Prairie No. 2.

So?

Wednesday, the two teams were scheduled to face each other in the Section 6AA championship game.

What happens is anyone’s guess.

Keeping Your Child Safe: This class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Eden Prairie Family Center. Eden Prairie Prairie Police Sgt. Matt Sackett will share basic safety rules for bikes and vehicles and will discuss personal boundary safety.
