Public SafetyEP stepping up DWI enforcementJuly 2, 2008 - 11:56am — Leah ShafferThe following is a news release from the City of Eden Prairie: Eden Prairie and Bloomington Police plan to increase DWI patrols this month, as July is one of the deadliest periods for impaired driving in Minnesota. The increased efforts are part of a statewide impaired driving enforcement sweep, coordinated by the state Department of Public Safety (DPS) as part of the Safe & Sober campaign, and will include participation from more than 400 Minnesota law enforcement agencies. The new Highway 212 grand opening was Tuesday. Cutting the ribbon are (left to right): Bob Lindall, city councilor and Southwest Corridor Transportation Coalition president; Dwayne Wilson, Industrial & Infrastructure Group Fluor president; Thomas Sorel, MnDOT commissioner; Lt. It appears that the thefts occurred overnight. Thieves smashed the windows of locked vehicles with valuables left in plain view, and entered unlocked vehicles. The following is a construction update from MnDOT on new Highway 212 construction: Hwy 41 – Lane restrictions on Hwy 41 will be extended until Monday, June 2, weather permitting, to allow time for the concrete that was poured to properly set.
