victory on Wednesday evening at Target Center.

When the high school hockey season opened three months ago, the defending state champion Eden Prairie High School boys hockey team was ranked No. 1.
And then Minnetonka started its season 4-0 and snatched away the top ranking; they’ve been ranked No. 1 ever since.
Fast forward to today and Minnetonka is ranked No 1, Eden Prairie No. 2.
So?
Wednesday, the two teams were scheduled to face each other in the Section 6AA championship game.
What happens is anyone’s guess.
Ice-fishing shelters must be removed from inland waters no later than midnight Monday in the southern two-thirds of the state, and March 15 in the northern third.
The dividing line runs from the Minnesota-North Dakota border near Moorhead along U.S. Highway 10, then east along Highway 34 to Minnesota Highway 200, east along Highway 200 to U.S. Highway 2, and east along Highway 2 to the Minnesota-Wisconsin border near Duluth.
"Eden Prairie High School's Wrestling team is going as a team to the State Wrestling tournament for the first time in more than 20 years," according to the announcement on the School District Web site, www.edenpr.org.
Individual sections are at the High School on Saturday, Feb. 27.
EPHS is wrestling St. Cloud Apollo at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4. The bus is set to leave at 9:40 a.m. and return at about 2 p.m. after the match. Cost is $5. You can sign up at Student Activities on Monday or Tuesday, according to the announcement.
Repeat of last year: Eden Prairie is first in Jazz, second in Pom

“I had all the confidence in world that the girls would nail their routines,” said Anna Itman, head coach of the Eden Prairie High School Pom Squad. “And when they walked off the floor, I knew their performance was strong enough to win a championship.”
In her next breath, Itman admits to not seeing the performances of Eden Prairie’s competition.
It didn’t matter as Eden Prairie won the United Dance Association’s 2010 Large Varsity Jazz National Championship (Orlando, Fla. Feb. 6-7).

Greg Albrecht knows a thing or two about triathlons.
The Eden Prairie man has completed more than 200 triathlons over 23 years. And, for the past 10 years, Albrecht has coached hundreds of triathletes to swim, bike and run farther than they ever imagined.
At 55 years old, the thrill of competition to be found on the road or water keeps him moving and moving, though the miles and laps don’t whisk by as quick as they once did.
No matter. He’s still enjoying himself.
According to a news release from Congressman Erik Paulsen, he has made a friendly wager with Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise.
The two are roommates in Washington, D.C.
