The theme of this year's Relay for Life in Eden Prairie was "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back." View scenes from the event in the following video.

“Temporary Living Center (TLC) in Eden Prairie, an extended stay facility for girls and young women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction,” is a site on this year’s Pond and Landscape Tour June 26-27. The garden is at 7170 Bryant Lake Drive.
According to a news release, “The garden was installed by local contractor R.J. Pruner and Landscapes, with help of donations from several companies that provided materials and labor. The first two phases of the garden are now complete. Officials at the TLC hope to add more features to the garden as additional donations are received.”

On July 12, Eden Prairie residents Lucas Kunach, and Michael and Judith Graceman competed in the Life Time Fitness Triathlon. This year’s team was made up of 40 athletes of various abilities. Leading the team was Chef Vincent Francoual, owner and head chef of Vincent – A Restaurant. The athletes swam, biked and ran their way to the finish line in support of the local nonprofit organization Fraser. This year the team raised more than $32,000 for Fraser services for children and adults with special needs.

The Taxpayers League of Minnesota recently gave Sen. David Hann (R-42) and seven other legislators “Best Friend of the Taxpayer” awards. This is Sen. Hann’s ninth award. To be named a “Best Friend of the Taxpayer” during a legislative session, a representative or senator must score a perfect 100 percent on the votes selected by the Taxpayers League.

All 20 are appointed to terms that expire on March 2, 2010.
