(Duluth, Minn.) If you have always wanted to be a part of Grandma’s Marathon, but running is just not your thing, then volunteering is the job for you! Join the Grandma’s Marathon team of more than 4,500 volunteers who will help make the 32^nd annual celebration an event to remember. There are still more than 1,000 positions available for the June 19-21 Grandma’s Marathon weekend.

Volunteer positions include areas such as traffic and spectator control, water station assistance, medical services, racecourse entertainment, race packet pick-up and finish area activities. Service organizations, large groups and individuals are all welcome and encouraged to participate. Each volunteer receives an official 2008 volunteer T-shirt, refreshment tickets and an invitation to the Grandma’s Marathon Volunteer Party on Sunday, June 29.

“We are so appreciative of the tremendous support we receive from our communities year after year. This event would not be possible without the terrific help we receive from our dedicated volunteers,” said Scott Keenan, executive director of Grandma’s Marathon.
