Home assistance programs – either a little or a lot – allow seniors to do what many want, and stay in their homes

It’s not rocket science. As the population ages, businesses that serve seniors are thriving.

If an elderly parent stopped paying bills on time would you ask them about it? If mom or dad had a series of falls in the home would you insist that they have a medical exam? How would you feel about entering into discussions like these?

Since 1963, when President John F. Kennedy first proclaimed May as “Senior Citizens Month,” (now Older Americans Month) government officials and many municipalities across America have focused on the month to publicly acknowledge the contributions of seniors to the nation and their communities.

Special events
Nominations will be accepted for Minnesota's outstanding older worker for 2008 until April 30. An online nomination form or a printed nomination form can be accessed at www.experienceworks.org.
