‘Saddam’s Secrets’ to be featured
October 28, 2007 - 9:00am — Karla
Major General Georges Sada, a former air vice marshal in Saddam Hussein’s military and author of the book, “Saddam’s Secrets,” will be the keynote speaker during an International Night event on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Grace Church in Eden Prairie. The program is free and will begin at 7 p.m. Major General Sada graduated from Iraq’s Air Academy in 1960 and was trained by elite forces in Great Britain, Russia, and the U.S. He achieved hero status during the Gulf War for his acts of bravery, which included saving the lives of 45 downed coalition pilots, according to a news release from the church. The major general is one of few Iraqi men ever to publicly confront Saddam Hussein and live to tell about it. Now retired from the military, Sada is the executive secretary of the Iraqi Institute for Peace and also serves as spokesman for the newly elected prime minister of Iraq. In addition to Major General Sada’s presentation, the International Night will include a Parade of Nations flag processional, plus inspiring choir, band and horn line music. Grace Church is in Eden Prairie at the southeast corner of Pioneer Trail and Eden Prairie Road, one mile west of Flying Cloud Airport. For more information, call 952-926-1884.
