Prairie Lutheran blood drive is tomorrow

Army Pvt. Chase C. Nault has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises, according to a news release.

Squadron teaches aerial imaging

The Viking Squadron, U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol, trains crews to use Aerial Imaging (AI) equipment during flights.
The crews send the images ground teams, firefighters, law enforcement, and government officials what challenges they might face on the ground, according to a Viking squadron press release.
“Whether it is to view damage to structures, floodwaters, forest fires, grass fires, building fires, animal populations, plane crashes, vehicle crashes and missing persons, the scenarios seem endless,” the release stated.

EP man pleads guilty in fraud case

A 51-year-old Eden Prairie resident, Mohamed Essa, recently pleaded guilty in federal court in connection to a case of health care fraud.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Essa pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

That convention center, a 15,000-square-foot building addition to the current headquarters at 11840 Valley View Road, will include a green roof. “The FEPS mission is to support and enhance the legacy of excellence in Eden Prairie Public Schools,” according to a news release. “FEPS does this by awarding scholarships and making grants to support innovative teaching programs. Since its inception, FEPS has awarded over $127,500 in grants and scholarships.”

Town hall on transportation

The Southwest Corridor Transportation Coalition is hosting a town hall meeting regarding highway and transit issues in Carver County. The agenda will include information on Highway 212, Highway 5 and Southwest Metro Transit service. The meeting is from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Chaska Community Center, Community Room, 1661 Park Ridge Drive, Chaska.
Speakers will include local government officials, area legislators and representatives from organizations including Bob Stevens, President of Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia.
