 <title>Eden Prairie City Council meets Oct. 7</title>

&lt;p&gt;A workshop on emergency preparedness planning in Heritage Rooms of Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road, starts for council members at 5 p.m., but normally discussions on topics don’t begin until about 5:30 p.m. Regular council meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Council Chamber. Residents can discuss city business with council members during the city’s open forum from 6:30 p.m. to 6:50 p.m., and open podium from 6:50 to 7 p.m. Those who wish to take part in the open forum need to contact the city manager’s office (949-8412) by noon the day of the meeting.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Southwest Corridor Transportation Coalition is hosting a town hall meeting regarding highway and transit issues in Carver County.  The agenda will include information on Highway 212, Highway 5 and Southwest Metro Transit service.  The meeting is from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Chaska Community Center, Community Room, 1661 Park Ridge Drive, Chaska.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Speakers will include local government officials, area legislators and representatives from organizations including Bob Stevens, President of Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The meeting is free and open to the public.&lt;/p&gt;
