Brindisi, Kangas among new ownership group

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is now under new ownership, though some of the owners have familiar faces.
Long-time Resident Artistic Director Michael Brindisi and Choreographer Tamara Kangas Erickson are among a large cast now charting a path forward for the 41-year-old theater.
Wings of the North has announced that AirExpo 2010 will be held July 17 and 18 at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie as part of the nonprofit group’s mission to preserve and present aviation history. More than 8,000 people are expected to attend this year’s show, featuring more than 40 aircraft and 60 aviation dignitaries, according to a news release from the group.

Eden Prairie residents are invited to the 29th Annual Eden Prairie Foundation Ball, which will take place on March 27, 2010, at the Minnetonka Southwest Marriott. The theme for this year’s event is “One Enchanted Evening.”
“And this is definitely not your grandfather and grandmother’s quiet, dour gala. This is a ‘let your hair down’ and ‘boogie the night away’ event that celebrates the best about living and working in Eden Prairie,” according to a news release.

The city of Eden Prairie is inviting artists to a new event, “Arts in the Park.” Applications are due by April 1.
The city’s Arts & Culture Commission is sponsoring the event, set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Purgatory Creek Park, 13001 Technology Drive.
City Arts Recreation Coordinator Lindsey Danhauser said Purgatory Park offers a new, centralized location, with more visibility and more room for vendors. The city had previously hosted “Arts and Antiques in the Garden” at the Cummins-Phipps-Grill house on Pioneer Trail.
The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum will present “The Spring Trunk Show II: Art of Tree Transformations,” opening March 19 and continuing through May 2.
This “trunk” show encompasses some 20 large and small wood turnings created by talented Edina artisan Virgil Leih.
EPHS alumna and American Idol Contestant Casey Carlson will be performing at a number of concerts this weekend. Starting on Friday, she’ll perform with Ari Herstand at The Fine Line starting at 9 p.m. and on Saturday, she’ll perform at The Garage in Burnsville starting at 5:45 p.m.
