On a related note. The Friday report from the City Manager includes the following:
"An employee at KMSP (FOX 9) has inquired about the possibility of conducting a farmer's market in its parking lot. The last time the City Council discussed the Farmer's Market concept, it was proposed for a parking lot in a City park. The discussion generated community interest and opposition from the Chamber of Commerce and from local competitors in that seasonal market niche. The KMSP site is zoned Regional Service Commercial, which permits temporary outside sales without additional review or regulatory authorization from the Planning Commission or City Council."

So, the question is, would a Farmer's Market be a good fit for EP? We've already got a farmer's stand that's here almost every day of the summer at Eden Prairie Center... Would local farmers support such a plan?

Anybody else have any romance novels they'd recommend? I've never really tried the genre. I think the closest thing I've read that resembles a romance is "Bridget Jones's Diary."

I think you're golden if you give out full-size candy bars. There's one house in our neighborhood that does, and all the kids were talking about it.

Wow, 30 cents for a burger.

I'd be willing to recreate this little journalistic experiment any time. And I do like hamburgers :)

Thanks to my husband

Thanks to my husband handing over his stash of gum (we had about 30 packs), the ghosts and goblins in our neighborhood didn't have to be subjected to me cleaning out the pantry since I forgot to pick up any candy.

I suggested everything from packets of soy sauce or cocoa to Little Debbie snack cakes or cans of corn (we bought a case a Sams Club) but he feared for the safety of our house and vehicles.

I tried to peak into the goodie bags to see what the neighbors were giving out but I couldn't see in too well.

I've always wondered what kids consider to be the "jackpot" treat. When we were kids, one of the houses handed out "Bubs Daddy" bubble gum. It was about a foot long and bigger around than a pencil and kids lined up down the block to get up the steps to that house. The owner used a marker to mark the hands of the kids who got one so they couldn't go through the line again. She also had about every inch of her yard and porch decorated so there was a lot of cool stuff to look at while you waited.

Most popular stop at Eden

Most popular stop at Eden Prairie Center yesterday? It looked like the music was extremely popular in center court -- and there was a long line outside Flash photography to get a free picture.

Castle Ridge had some great candy too -- Hershey bars, bags of Cheetos.

Did you get something fun while trick-or-treating yesterday? What was the No. 1 item in your trick-or-treat bag?
