I don't have a particular

I don't have a particular memory as much as disappointment that another landmark is disappearing. Like Jim Clark, I associated the Flying Red Horse with one of Eden Prairie's great families, the Schwartz clan. I know the gas business is a difficult one, and it no doubt became more difficult in recent years with the introduction of new competitors. Alas, another family business associated with old-time EP is gone.

I really like the wine bottle. That's a fun way to gather supplies for PROP.

Update: Dilbert wins!

Update: Dilbert wins! Dilbert made of cans won first prize in the competition Westwood had. The team that made it, along with the second- and third-place teams, receives Target gift cards.
Second place went to the spoon bridge and cherry and third was the stratosphere.
The group that collected the most food for PROP was the one that made the wine bottle. Their group wins a company ice cream social.
Speaking of light's out, we

Speaking of light's out, we actually had a humorous moment during the Christmas Eve service at the church in my hometown. They handed out the candles, then shut off the lights before they were lit, so we were all trying to sing in complete darkness. The piano player gamely tried to keep going, but when she stopped, we all started laughing.

Love the Onion & love these

Love the Onion & love these gift ideas (not sure who I could send the cards to, though).

Too bad I didn't see this earlier or I could have gotten my husband something to top the Clapper that I got him last year. It actually was not intended to be funny -- he always falls asleep reading -- but when the dogs were able to bark the lights on and off with it, the humor began. And, when he wasn't ready to shut the light off but a sneeze or a cough caused it to happen, there were times when I thought he was applauding in his attempts to get the light to come back on. Recently, it became a permanent lights out for the Clapper -- it won't do anything for anyone anymore!

As a Law Enforcement Officer

As a Law Enforcement Officer that just puts us on a higher level of threat, not only to us but the person with that type (Color) of weapon.
First we had to worry about the toy guns looking so real and now this !!!!
Come on people, what were you thinking?
Money or safety?
Don't come back on us if somebody gets hurt or killed when somebody points something like this at us because we never know anymore if we are being threatened by the real thing or a toy.
Would I buy one? NO WAY...I don't need to have a pink gun to feel like a lady. Sorry folks if I offended anyone. Just my opinion only

More tips if you're shopping in a group:

* Make sure cell phones are charged in case you lose your fellow shoppers.

* Designate one person to stand in line at the store as soon as you get in, then the others can shop in that store while one waits. Take turns with this duty.

Wow, 30 cents for a burger.

I'd be willing to recreate this little journalistic experiment any time. And I do like hamburgers :)

Laid-back, aspirational lifestyle destination for high school aged Dudes and Bettys? What does that mean? What if you are in high school but consider yourself neither a dude nor betty? Are the goth kids and geeks relegated to Hot Topic? Okay, I'll stop being snarky.

Sonics proliferate in my home state of Kansas. Their burgers are so good, plus I love their slushy drinks. The Minnesota winter might be rough on the carhops, though.
