Eden Prairie will be home to the first 100 percent renewable soy oil transformer in Minnesota, according to a news release from Xcel Energy. The company "is the first major utility in the country to make the switch to this new environmentally friendly technology.

A crew will be installing the transformer at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the release said, at 12251 Sunnybrook Road.
