The Headline: "Investigator: Palin abused power"

» Read similar stories filed under:

That's the headline from The Anchorage Daily News,

Here's the part of the story, describing the composition of the panel that made the finding that Governor Palin abused the power of her office:

"(the investigator's) report was released Friday by a 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, with eight Republicans and four Democrats voting.

Yes, a 12-0 vote with 8 Republicans and 4 Democrats. That, by definition, is a bi-partisan finding, that Governor Palin abused the power of her office.

So, what did the Governor say, about this finding? Let's look!

Asked about the report released Friday by Alaska lawmakers that found she had abused the powers of the governor’s office, Ms. Palin replied:

“I’m thankful that the report has shown that there was no illegal or unethical activity there in my choice to replace our commissioner,” she said. “A partisan kind of process that had been undertaken by some of the legislators who haven’t been real happy with anything that I’ve done along the way as governor, that process is now over, with that finding that I haven’t done anything unlawful in replacing the commissioner.” (NY Times)

Unreal.

But, if you liked the guys that said the following, you'll love Governor Palin.

"I believe demolishing Hussein's military power and liberating Iraq would be a cakewalk." - Kenneth Adelman, member of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board, February 13, 2002

“Now, it isn’t gong to be over in 24 hours, but it isn’t going to be months either.” –Richard Perle, Chairman of the Pentagon’s Defense Policy Board, July 11, 2002

"I don't believe that anything like a long-term commitment of 150,000 Americans would be necessary." - Richard Perle, speaking at a conference on "Post-Saddam Iraq" sponsored by the American Enterprise Institute, October 3, 2002

"Iraq has tremendous resources that belong to the Iraqi people. And so there are a variety of means that Iraq has to be able to shoulder much of the burden for ther own reconstruction." - Ari Fleischer, White House Press Secretary, February 18, 2003

"It's hard to conceive that it would take more forces to provide stability in post-Saddam Iraq than it would take to conduct the war itself and to secure the surrender of Saddam’s security forces and his army. Hard to imagine." –Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, testifying before the House Budget Committee prior to the Iraq war, February 27, 2003

"My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators." –Vice President D*ck Cheney, "Meet the Press," March 16, 2003

"There is a lot of money to pay for this that doesn't have to be U.S. taxpayer money, and it starts with the assets of the Iraqi people. We are talking about a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon." - Paul Wolfowitz, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense, testifying before the Defense Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee, March 27, 2003

"We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat." –Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, when asked about weapons of mass destruction in an ABC News interview, March 30, 2003

"The United States is committed to helping Iraq recover from the conflict, but Iraq will not require sustained aid." - Mitchell Daniels, Director, White House Office of Management and Budget, April 21, 2003

“I think they’re in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency.” Vice President D*ck Cheney, "Larry King Live," June 20, 2005

Since Governor Palin won't tell the truth about a report released last Friday - that said she abused the power of her office, it's safe to assume she'll be no different than those who uttered the above quotes about Iraq.
