If you enjoy sampling and learning about fine wine, plan to attend the fourth annual “Vino Classico: Eden Prairie Uncorked” wine-tasting fund-raiser from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Eden Prairie Life Time Fitness Athletic Club (formerly Flagship).

Tickets to the event, sponsored by the Eden Prairie (A.M.) Rotary Club, are now on sale. They cost $35 per person in advance and $45 at the door.

The event, organized with the help of Eden Prairie Liquor, will have 27 vendors providing samples of more than 100 wines, including non-alcoholic wines. In addition, patrons will be able to sample non-alcoholic drink mixes as well as Sprecher-brand brews and sodas.

Food samples – including fine cheese from Kowalski’s – will also be available.

In addition, the event features an art auction, including art with a sports theme as well as sculptures and paintings by noted Eden Prairie artists Dick and Heidi Poey.

Proceeds are used by the club to fund such endeavors as student scholarships, the “Above & Beyond” student recognition program, the Golden Eagle Award, the STRIVE mentoring program, and mission work in Honduras.
