A new award you will be hearing more about at the end of the current school year at Eden Prairie High School is the "Above & Beyond" Award.

This is an award that will be presented by the Eden Prairie Schools and the Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary Club to high school seniors who go "above and beyond" in terms of helping others, overcoming adversity, offering inspiration, demonstrating integrity and working "behind the scenes."

Honor students and top athletes are typically recognized in other ways; now these other big contributors' stories need to be told.

The values of Rotary will also play a part in determining who is recognized through the "Above & Beyond" program. Those values are present in the organization's "four-way test," which goes like this: "Is it the truth? Is is fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?"
