The Reason Foundation recently released a study on traffic congestion for all the cities in the U.S. The report on Minnesota ranks the Twin Cities as the 21st most congested city in the United States.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Travel Time Index (TTI) of 1.34 “means that driving times during peak traffic hours are 34 percent longer than during off-peak times. Unless major steps are taken to relieve congestion, drivers in the Twin Cities can expect to see a TTI of 1.76 by 2030, meaning they will experience travel delays worse than present-day Los Angeles,” states the report.
Here’s a link to Minnesota’s section of the report. Does anyone agree or disagree with these findings? Are we that bad off? Feel free to share your traffic horror stories as well.
