![]() 'Art of Recovery' exhibit
April 18, 2008 - 8:00am — Karla
The fifth annual Art of Recovery, an exhibit of visual and literary arts commemorating Minnesota’s Crime Victims’ Rights Week, opened Friday, April 11. Starting at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, there will be readings of the literary entries. The display of the art work and the literary readings will be at the Arts Board, Park Square Court, 400 Sibley St., Saint Paul. The exhibit is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs (OJP) and Minnesota State Arts Board. Sixteen artists and writers were invited to exhibit their work, which reflects a range of victim experiences: assault, rape, domestic abuse and murder of a child. April 13 through 19 is Crime Victims’ Rights Week, when crime victims and survivors, and those who serve them will join together to promote victims’ rights and services, and to educate communities about the impact of crime. The Art of Recovery exhibit will run through June 30. For more information, visit www.arts.state.mn.us/aor. For information about Crime Victims’ Rights Week and victim assistance, go to www.ojp.state.mn.us.
