The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for two vacancies on the Riley-Purgatory-Bluff Creek Watershed District Board. The terms for the two positions expire July 31. Incumbent Kristine Sundberg of Minnetonka is seeking reappointment; James Landini of Bloomington is not seeking reappointment.
“This board coordinates management of water and related land resources within the areas generally tributary to Riley, Purgatory and Bluff creeks in southwest Hennepin and northeast Carver counties,” a news release stated. “A member may not be a public officer of the county, state or federal government and must be a resident of the district, which in Hennepin County includes portions of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Deephaven and Shorewood. Because of the nature of the board, it is helpful for members to have a background in water conservation, development, law, engineering, environment or public administration. Members serve three-year terms.”
Application deadline is July 17.
